Sorry to say...I started this post a number of weeks ago...but didn't get around to finishing it until now. Although the end of September seems like ages ago...at least the Oktoberfest tent is still up in Burkliplatz...I'm not that far behind, am I?
The 9th Annual Zurich Film Festival (Fest #1) took over the Bellevue area of Zurich from September 26 to October 6. Not exactly Cannes, but lots of interesting movies to check out...and a few celebrities to see. We ended up getting tickets to "Parkland" and "Diana." The former is an American historical drama focusing on the chaotic events occuring following JFK's assassination; the later, a biopic about the final two year's of Princess Diana's life. Neither is going to win an Oscar...but we can now say we attended a "premiere in a german speaking country!"
Unfortunately, we were at Fest #2 (Munich Oktoberfest) on Saturday, September 28 when Hugh Jackman was in town to receive the coveted "Golden Icon" award. Rumor has it he was quite congenial, signing autographs and such...as opposed to Harrison Ford who came the following weekend to receive a Lifetime Achievement award and teach a master's class. Didn't see either of them...so I'll leave it at that!

However...no time to revel in our "german-speaking-country-premiere-ness"...we're off to München and Oktoberfest early Saturday morning! We went with our friends, Teri and Jeff, who fortunately have a car...and room for us! Dressed in our dirndls (Teri and I, that is,) and loaded down with a thermos of coffee and plenty of breakfast/car snacks...we jumped in and headed off on the Autobahn, München or bust!
